Overlapping the mythologies and rich stories of the Boötes Constellation, the name coined by Homer in the Odyssey as a celestial reference point for navigation, and the myth of the magpie being drawn to shiny objects I
imagined what bird migration look like from like as being viewed by one of the many Greek gods that were thought to be turned into a star to forever live and create the constellations that today contains our fourth brightest star in the night sky.

Inspired by the Sir Arthur Eddingtons expedition on May 29, 1919, of the solar eclipse which brought Einsteins theory of relativity to the English speaking world when the world was divided by the ending of WW1.



ABOUT THE ARTIST

Andrea Lauer is an Artist, Designer, and Inventor residing in New York City who works internationally to produce multimedia experiences and works of art.

She is the Founder and CEO of RISEN DIVISION; a sustainable fashion brand focused on the jumpsuit as a uniform for the modern woman. Her work is focused on the storytelling of the human body as a medium that combines the analog and digital into performance, fashion, fine
art, medicine, and sports with the use of new materials and technologies. Her design work has been seen on Broadway, the 52nd Annual Grammy Awards, Shakespeare’s Globe, the Sydney Opera house as well as having a t-shirt design archived in the Rock and Roll
Hall of Fame. Andrea is the co-director of Brick X Brick, a public art performance that builds human walls against misogyny, which was recently included in the New York City Historical Society as part of their permanent collection. She was chosen as a Randi
Zuckerberg’s #52womenin52weeks, a series that highlights female entrepreneurs and is an MIT Media Lab Directors Fellow.
